Netropole, Inc. Achieves Microsoft’s Information Worker Solutions Competency
Competency Award Recognizes Expertise in SharePoint, other applications.
PORTLAND, OR. – July 24, 2006 – Netropole, Inc. has achieved a Microsoft Information Worker Solutions competency with a specialization in Portals and Content Management Systems. This competency is a way for Microsoft to recognize its partners for developing expertise in certain product solutions. The Information Worker Solution competency covers Microsoft products such as SharePoint Portal Server, InfoPath and others. “The need for user-maintainable content management systems is becoming more and more common” says Dave Johnson, President and co-founder of Netropole. “The days of proprietary systems where you don’t have control over your own content are gone.”
SharePoint is being used in organizations of all sizes, from SMB’s to large enterprise organizations for a variety of uses. Some of the more popular uses include; company or departmental portals, document libraries or as a framework for simple workflow automation. “SharePoint also integrates extremely well with the current versions of Office, which allows our customers to get the most out of their software investment dollar” states Johnson.
InfoPath is a forms automation application which benefits organizations by automating repetitive tasks and can be used in conjunction with SharePoint to capture meta-data (data used to categorize and index documents). Once this meta-data is captured, information retrieval from document libraries in SharePoint becomes even more powerful.
