Investing in the Future - Netropole is Corporate Sponsor for First LEGO League Robotics Competition

Team Polar Force 2002
Team Polar Force Earns a First-Place Trophy for Most Creative Design at the 2001 First Lego League CompetitionTeam Polar Force has again proven that teamwork counts in the 2002 MINDSTORMS competition. Team Captain Randy Burns, with the help of his Co-Captains lead the team to a place in the state competition this year.

"The problem to be solved was much harder this year than it was last year. I think that they are raising the bar as time goes on to weed out the field."

Netropole continues to support the development of young minds in Portland, and salutes their efforts in this challenging competition.

Team Polar Force Earns a First-Place Trophy for Most Creative Design at the 2001 First Lego League CompetitionMembers of Team Polar Force were the proud recipients of a First Place trophy in the "Most Creative Design" category at the 2001 First Lego League competition.

Developed in collaboration with the LEGO Company, FLL is a Robotics Tournament for children ages 9-14 that combines hands-on, minds-on challenges with a sports-like atmosphere using the LEGO MINDSTORMS Technology. Teams consist of up to 10 players with the focus on team building, creative problem solving, and analytical thinking. Teams face an annual Challenge emulating a real world event or situation and must research, plan, build, program and test a fully autonomous robot capable of accomplishing the Challenge. Teams have 8 weeks to complete their robots and can then proceed to a local or state level competition with their team. At tournaments teams will present their accomplishments in 3 different areas: Robot Performance, Technical Quality, and Presentation of Research and Hypothesis related to the Challenge Theme.
