WWPA Embraces E-Commerce for Publications

Lowers costs and speeds fulfillment of Member Publications using E-Commerce.
The Western Wood Products Association has rolled out an
E-Commerce site to help lower the costs of publications
distribution. WWPA has created a new system for their members and
non-members to order WWPA publications online. Previously, fax and phone were
the only ordering methods, with fulfillment coming after receipt of a check, or
money order. This was both time consuming and costly for WWPA, and did not
provide them with data on which publications were selling, and to whom. To
gather this information, WWPA would have to sift through old phone and fax
orders, extract, compile, and report on the data manually.
The new E-commerce system, which was customized to meet WWPA requirements for
look and feel and organization accepts credit card information, automates order
notification, tracks order status, and provides real-time reporting on sales.
