Proactive vs. Reactive
Netropole's approach to IT outsourcing is simple - prevent problems,
plan for the future, and have a plan in mind when you have a problem. Our
support strategy is a ground up approach:
Baselining - We gather information on your network and
systems, connectivity, security, and overall health. This takes the
form of creating a detailed inventory of hardware, operating systems
and software. Baselining gives us the basis for finding and fixing potential
problems before they become problems, and gives us the information
needed for the next step - Documentation.
Documentation - We find that more then 90% of the networks
that we are called in to fix have no documentation whatsoever. No
passwords, users, groups, permissions, resources, security... well you
get the idea. No documentation means headaches for our engineers, and
more cost for the client, neither of which we like. Before we are
through, our clients get documentation (words and pictures) that tell
them exactly what they have invested in. This documentation
"lives" in that it is updated and delivered to our client
whenever significant changes are made to the network.
Ongoing Support - Once we have made necessary changes, and
your network is working like it should, we are ready to provide
ongoing support in the form of phone, onsite, and remote network
administration. We have no prepackaged plans that you must buy - all
support is based upon need and can be as simple as a phone call when
you need help to an outsourced body onsite for a long-term
engagement.
One Time Services
In addition to ongoing services, Netropole also provides the following

determine your optimal balance between access and security and help to
minimize the chances of having uninvited "guests" visit your
network.

proactive monitoring and remote administration.
- Virus Preparedness Surveys - How well prepared for a virus
attack are you and what is the plan when (not if) it happens?

for this unpleasant eventuality using tools from Symantec, McAfee, and
other leading solutions providers.
- Training - Netropole is committed to sharing knowledge with
our clients. This takes the place of complete and candid documentation,
phone support, and one-on-one training when appropriate. We can
